Hi, I’m Michaela — a music lover, collector, and founder of Penguin Record Store.

I’m based in the Czech Republic and specialize in exclusive limited-edition vinyl, CDs, and cassettes, especially rare imports from the US and UK with plans to expand my imported selection to include rare titles from Latin America and Japan.

My mission is simple:

To bring beautiful, hard-to-find physical music to fellow collectors in Europe — with care, love, and fair pricing.

Music has always been more than a hobby for me — it’s my lifestyle, my identity, my passion. I started collecting as a child, from cassettes to CDs. In 2020, I got my very first colored vinyl – Taylor Swift’s Folklore – and that one record changed everything. It opened a world of limited editions, alternate covers, and rare pressings that felt magical and personal.

Every record I offer is something I would proudly keep in my own collection. I choose them with care and handle each order myself — because I know what it means to wait for a dream vinyl and finally hold it in your hands.

I’m especially passionate about pop music, and Latin pop holds a special place in my heart — a connection that grew during my seven years in Mexico, where I discovered artists like Thalia, Lucero, and Danna Paola.

Among English-speaking artists, Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift are my biggest inspirations, and I’m always exploring new music. One of my recent favorites is the talented Suki Waterhouse.

I also love traveling and always bring back at least one local CD or special edition from the countries I visit. Collecting music is my way of connecting memories of travel with specific artists and albums. Every place I visit stays with me through the music that accompanied it.

I believe that work should be tied to passion, which is why I started selling limited-edition records in 2024. My goal is to offer unique pieces to fans and collectors that hold value not just in their rarity but also in the stories they carry.
